Garage Door Control – GoControl/Linear

This simple addition to the SmartThings hub will never leave you wondering “Did I close the garage door?”. The GoControl/Linear GD00Z-4 is a Z-Wave controlled retrofit garage door opener.

It wires into the same two wires as the existing button. Offering control and status via another sensor that is mounted on the door. In the winter this is perfect for ensuring that every time we leave the garage door is closed to conserve the garage heaters.

Update 2020: This Garage Door opener is still one of my favorite SmartThings devices to date.
