Where to start with home energy monitoring?

By far the best home energy monitor on the market. The Sense Energy Monitor is the perfect way to monitor detailed energy usage from the main panel. The Mobile app allows for simple to read energy reports. A great foundation to start learning what impact devices in the home have on your energy bill.

We installed this early 2018 as we started to our upgrades to really understand and track the reductions along the way. The metrics and data is great to have history on, however, the device learning in spot on for some devices and others are not great at identifying or tracking usage to understand behavior and benefit of other upgrades.

Sense recommends a professional installation and has videos online showing the installation. The installation is simple and involves wiring power and clamping a device around each main feed. The wireless setup is like many other home devices where the mobile app walks you through connecting to the sense and then your home network.
