Upgrade Home to LEDs

I always knew switching to LEDs would save energy and money but didn’t realize how much until we switched out the entire house with LED. Xcel was running a rebate with Home Depot and I was able to replace all of our lights for a fraction of the cost. As a reference our dark basement ~850 sq/ft had four in ceiling lights with single bulbs (60 watt). We renovated our basement and had 28, yes 28, can lights installed using LED inserts and we’re still using LESS Energy!!

Using an Xcel Energy rebate program at Home Depot we upgraded every other bulb in the house. Upgrading to all LEDs has reduced our monthly energy spend $20-30, this is higher than most because we have young children and my wife works out of the house, but was a big saver month by month.

The basement lighting is all controlled and timed using the Leviton smart switches and motion sensors tied to SmartThings.
